There are tons of ways to build a network marketing or MLM busines: You can magpaka old school. logistics (Home meetings, Hotel meetings, seminars). You can prospecting and build the organization with the phone (this is the trend in the U.S.). You can use as and ileverage the internet logistics and apply the attraction marketing concept (email marketing, social media marketing, lead generation). You can advertise (Not advisable for newbies, but it's one of the secrets of the big dogs on the internet network marketing and home based business industry).
