The film was made in Hollywood during the 30

The film was made in Hollywood during the 30's and early 20's was characterized by a great creative freedom and freedom themes with unique self-censorship imposed by the artists themselves. Some of the topics covered in these films were prostitution, drugs, murder, adultery, homosexuality, etc.. and this struck so much negative religious and conservative sectors of society. Basically, the scandal caused some works was due to what was seen on the screens was a reflection of American society that went through an era of the most dark and Hollywood specifically, each more events occurred extremely immoral: murder of actors, overdose deaths, sex scandals, etc.. Another crucial but unrecognized areas between Puritan, was the fear that had been installed ces at the different religions that were in the United States because of the reverence ces people had for some members ces of the Hollywood ces Star System and in some cases, exceeded the veneration of religious symbols themselves.
For this reason, some of the most radical clerics were drafted ces a set of rules to which all the films they wanted to be released in the United States had to meet the standards established in this code, which went down in history with the name of one of its founders and top defenders: William H. Hays.
In 1930 Hays, RP Daniel A. Lord Martin Quigley and SJ were writing this code, but it was not until 1934 that the Code adopts the name of Hays Code and begin to apply in a powerful and definitive until 1967, when he gave way to the new system censorship MPAA film rating system. Suffice to say that some producers, assimilated as internal code, so as not to encounter problems that could affect their business profits.
The Hays Code deprive Americans of all movies made outside the United States, and those that were released in the independent circuit. Luckily for the public, this strength was waning over the years, and all those things that try to limit the freedom imposed by society.
With these rules as interpreted many filmmakers and producers were making some films of incredible moral ambiguity that made nothing but confuse the public and direct it towards a standardized thought that pose a danger to the most powerful class and U.S. wealthy, who else were the most immoral q ue.
